Mario Kart DS (Japanese: マリオカートDS Hepburn: Mario Kāto Dī Esu) is an go-kart racing game developed and published by Nintendo. It had been released for its Nintendo DS handheld game console on November 14, 2005 in North America, on November 17, 2005 in Australia, on November 25, 2005 in Europe, on December 8, 2005 in Japan, and on April 5, 2007 at South Korea. The sport is currently the fifth installment in the Mario Kart collection of video games, and the very first to be playable through the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection online support; the service has been resumed, together with other games playable via the service.

Fight mode includes two game modes, including Balloon Battle and Shine Runners, both that also allow the player to perform either independently or in groups.

In Balloon Battle, the participant has to pop the balloons of these opposing players by assaulting themor else they can steal balloons by fostering into other karts. Each player starts the conflict with 1 balloon. These may be re-inflated up to 4 times. In multiplayer, if a person player loses most his/her balloons, he/she is out of this game and turns into a ghost. As a ghost, a participant can only place item boxes. If the conflict is played in single player, then the game finishes and the results have been declared when all the individual player’s balloons are popped.
